Kurt graduated from the University of Georgia with a BBA in Accounting in 1992. He started in the financial services industry in 1995 with the global insurance company AXA/Equitable, where he developed a foundation of financial and insurance planning. Kurt later joined the Private Wealth Management area of Truist, where he developed portfolios for wealthy families. In 2008, he earned the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, CRPC(r), designation from the College for Financial Planning. In 2011, Kurt joined Morgan Stanley and started his Discretionary Portfolio Management practice. In 2019, he became a Senior Portfolio Manager and an Insurance Planning Director in 2021. Kurt joined Steward Partners Global Advisory in 2023.
Kurt has advised clients and has managed portfolios for wealthy families for more than two decades. He believes in comprehensive planning for his clients including retirement, tax efficient investing, insurance, estate planning strategies, and philanthropic giving.
Kurt, and his wife Anna, live in Charleston, SC and have four adult children. They enjoy music, the arts, nature, and international travel. They have visited over 30 countries with their children often joining them and take the time to understand the history, language, and culture and cuisine of each destination they visit. Kurt and Anna support several causes addressing healthcare, education, and human rights.
